Movie Review : Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw

Alert : There might be spoilers!

Recently I had the opportunity to watch Fast & Furious : Hobbs & Shaw with the thought of it's  another chain from the F&F movies. But actually it is more of a spin-offs rather than the continuous versions.

The opening scene really caught my attention. Split view of Hoobs on the left and Shaw on the right. Filming them from waking up, to getting ready and suddenly got a call for a mission. The fighting scene for both of them, while getting the mission completes was really great, despite why the bottle champagne isn't broken at first was weird.

I love the father-daughter scene of Hobbs at the diner, eating their breakfast with a high stacks of fluffy scrumptious pancakes *drool*, and another father-daughter moment on video call while Hobbs was supposed to interrogating Hattie Shaw, yes she is Deckard's sister.

One scene on a heist, that got me really amazed was when Brixton Lore tried to get to Hattie for the virus, the way his mechanical body moves was soooo smooth plus the motorcycle, I mean, what is that?! The way it flip back and forth and sideways, was just mind-blowing for me! *clap clap*

There was a glimpse of The Italian Job in this movie, where the three of them were in Deckard's private lair and the camera goes to focus on one small Italian car and the conversation went something like this,

Hobbs: "Look a small car just for you"
Shaw: "That was for one job in Italy"

A sudden flashback for me on the heist scene with the three cars

There was one part in Etheon, where Hattie managed to escaped and three of them are trying to escape Brixton, the scene looks almost like Death Race, as you know Shaw was THE Frankenstein, and their vehicle almost resembles the one on Death Race, big bulky, with chasing and explosion. You named it.

It ended with a family scene where Hobbs had to ask for some brotherly help to fix the virus-suction-machine for Hattie, as she injected the virus to herself to prevent Brixton from taking it. There this one scene where Hobbs' mother threw one slipper was so funny! His mother wanted his brother, Jonah, to help Hobbs fix and standby for war!

The Samoa family and culture scenes, was a good thing to share to the audience, they also installed some Hakka when greeting Brixton and the team to distract them using 'The Mick Jagger' trick from Hattie and Deckard childhood tricks.

I give this movie a good 4/5 stars!

If you haven't watched it, please do!
