Food Review : KFry, IOI Putrajaya

Assalammualaikum,

It was a delivery day for me and it turns out Amani was taking her leave from work and ask me if I could have lunch with her. So I bring her with me for delivery and also my sister, Aqilah.

After delivery at Putrajaya, we asked Aqilah what she would like to have for lunch as questions like "Nak makan mana?" or "Nak makan apa?" is always a problem for all of us! Haha. And Aqilah decided to have korean food at KFry, which its main dish is chicken.

A restaurant called KFry (slang for Korean Fried Chicken) recreates Korean comfort food with a wholesome and modern twist.

"Our chicken are delivered FRESH DAILY, never frozen, ONLY CHILLED." - their tagline I presume.

Using a unique Korean Double Frying Method, our well marinated Chicken are fried to JUICY, CRISPY PERFECTION! Yes, this is without a doubt, the best ever technique for frying a chicken without losing their juices.

They have 7 different flavours including Korean favourites, Spicy Yangnyeom, Soya Garlic and Honey Butter!

Upon reaching the place, we had to Q as it was almost past lunch time, despite we arrived at 3 pm, the Q is really long! I wonder those who eats there didn't go to work. Haha. Or maybe it was semester breaks?

After queuing abut half an hour at KFry, we had our seats. We ordered during queuing as the staffs gave us a menu for us to go through and my oh my, all of it looks really delicious! though the price might be a little bit pricey, but well, there is always a first time in trying. If it is okay balance out with the taste, then maybe this place can be considered a second trip.

We ordered the Spicy Cheesy Fried Chicken Bumbuk (RM49.90), by the look of the picture it doesn't look that big but when it came to our table, boy, it was huge! and the numbers of chicken pieces was about 15 pieces. Luckily there were three of us. Haha.

So how to eat this? KFry's chicken is famous for their cheese-wrap-chicken which means, upon receiving the chicken dish, the staff will melt the cheese away and make a stringy-texture to easily wrap the spicy-coated-chicken for us to indulge later. Gosh typing about this makes me hungry *drooling*

The funny part was, before the staff wrap the chicken, he asked "Do you want to take a picture of the dish?" Haha, it is quite rare for a staff to ask that questions.

The first bite was mind-blowing! I couldn't stop munching on it! No words can exactly describe how good it is! The crunchiness, spicy-ness, cheesey-ness, it was all too perfect! (I'm using to much exclamation marks here - well you get the meaning right?)

Then we ordered the Mango Bingsoo (RM28) - a shaved ice with mango ice-cream and mango fruits. Quite surprised with the size and we thought that we couldn't finished it, but then again, it is WE who are we talking about. We love foods!

For drinks we only had ice water to save some budget :)

Food Review : Restoran Bangi Dong, Bangi

Assalammualaikum,

As it sounds, it is not an Indonesian slang, Dong, but it is the name of the restaurant - Restoran Bangi Dong. A Korean BBQ type of restaurant. It was on last year during March, celebrating my birthday that my parents decided to bring the family out for lunch.

My mum really wanted to try eating Korean foods as she watches too much of Korean drama, yes that K-Drama hehe. She searched an found one located in Bangi. We used waze to go to Restoran Bangi Dong.

Upon reaching the place, the restaurant is strategically located in the heart of Bangi close to most of the big branded boutiques. We opt for the outdoor seating area as there are six of us including one of our cousin.

I forgot about which combo we did choose, but it did have some meat and seafood. After ordering the combo and drinks, now its BBQ time!

We had to start the fire first, which the staffs will be delighted to on it for us, and then using the raw yellow onions provided, we must glide the onions over the grill to slightly burnt it to give a smoother/oily surface for the meat and seafood to cook - to make sure they don't stick to the grill.

The combo do come with some condiments and a bowl of soup, and we add on their signature pancake and it was delicious.

Trying to grill the meat, seafood, rice cake surely took some time and my tummy is already growling. Haha. The rice drinks was good too that we decided to have more of it!

Thanks mummy and abah for the birthday treat! xoxo

Hotel Review : Hotel de Art i-City Shah Alam

Assalammmualaikum,

Month of February has been quite a hectic month for me as most of my customers are having their wedding days and needed a lot of desserts to accompany their events.

For the past weeks, orders been keep coming non-stop that I had to bring in one helper, my sister, to help keep me sane while baking. Haha.

Jungling between making the cupcakes, buttercream while having trouble with the oven malfunction the day before, was one of the worst problem I had encountered. The technician couldn't come any sooner and we had to start our work late at 5pm and finished at 5 in the morning the next day.

After all the chaotic, I really in need of a getaway. Not a vacation like you go to beaches and sight seeing, but more of a sleep-getaway - yes, SLEEP.

After considering the budgets that I have, I decided to stay at a nearby hotel named Hotel de Art, I-City, Shah Alam. Yes, that close to home. I have already stayed at their other three branches - Section 7, Section 19 and Bandar Seri Permaisuri. This is like the 4th branch for me.

Hotel de Art has always been associate with arts and colorful designs/decorations through out their building, hallways and rooms. For I-city branch, the colors spread a little too big on their building - a corner shop lot big enough to suite at least 35 rooms. Choosing a 'splash-watercolor' kind of effects really brings out the 'arts' in the hotel.

Entering by the front door, you can imagine having Alice, as in 'Alice in The Wonderland', greeting you at the reception. A mischievous cat, Cheshire, sitting by the big blue sofa and the White Rabbit keep on reminding you about the time. But here, time is not a problem, as you may just be in a wonderland.

Guiding you up the the room is one 'grassy' lift (because the hall to the lift is covered with fake grass, hehe) to the second floor and room 206. A queen-sized bed with window is the room that had been given to me upon checking in.

A blue background on top of the bed with murals of a bird and a cage feels like a saying goes "be free for the day" really was what I needed after a few hectic weeks.

The size of the room was merely big enough for two persons, but if you are coming with a family, opt for a family room. This room is more if like a couple rooms or besties room. The room is spacious enough for you to do your prayer and just sit on a small couch. They even provides essential amenities like flat screen TV, a kettle, mugs and coffee sachet, mineral bottled waters, a telephone, wi-fi and air-cond.

The toilet was quite big, equipped with a rain-shower, toilet and sink, and also shampoo with body wash.

I stayed there for two nights and really loving their fluffy pillows. Haha! wish I could bring them back home. Although they might not be serving any breakfast, they do have frozen foods that will only need some heating in microwave. Here I am having Nasi Tomato and surprisingly it is quite delicious, despite having it frozen and had to reheat around 10 mins, but that doesn't change it texture nor flavors.

Some say, why would I stay at a hotel near to home when I can choose a more further and better hotel? Well, the main reason I need to stay at a hotel was only because I need a non-disturbance sleep, thus that is why I choose Hotel de Art and obviously it is within my budget. A night is at RM118 for a queen-sized room, okay lah kan? Haha.

Owh ya, they also have function rooms that can accommodate up to 150 pax. Suitable for small dinner gathering, or closed nikah ceremony or even if you up for some birthday celebrations!

To many more stories on my stay and foods, do pray for me to write more and more! xoxo
