Today's Tenses lesson 1

Hey! Hey! I've finished my exams. Hooray!! It was a relief. Fuh! And I want to share what I have learnt to you.

THE SIMPLE PRESENT

( a ) Ann takes a shower every day.

( b ) I usually read the newspaper in the morning.

( c ) Babies cries. Birds fly.

( d ) NEGATIVE:

It doesn't snow on Bangkok.

( e ) QUESTION:

Does the teacher speak slowly?

EXPLANATION

The SIMPLE PRESENT expresses daily habits or usual activities, as in ( a ) and ( b ).

The simple present expresses general statements of fact, as in ( c ).

In sum, the simple present is used for events or situation that exist always, usually, or habitually in the past, present, and future.

THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS

( f ) Ann can't come to the phone right now because is taking a shower.

( g ) I am reading my grammar book right now.

( h ) Jimmy and Susie are babies. They are crying. I can hear them right now. Maybe they are hungry.

( i ) NEGATIVE:

It isn't snowing right now.

( j ) QUESTION:

Is the teacher speaking right now?

EXPLANATION

The PRESENT CONTINUOUS expresses an activity that is in progress ( is occuring, is happenig ) right now. The event is in progress at the time the speaker is saying the sentences.

The event began in the past, is in progress now, and will probably continue in the future.

FORM: am, is, are + -ing

Thank you for the English

I'm having a hard time trying to complete today's listenig exam. Why? because some of the questions I couldn't answered it. And it's making me frustrated! I was like,"Teacher,can you rewind the tape again?" And of course the answer was,"NO!" Haiyaa! I sit straight and just moved on with the next questions. Everyone were focusing on the questins and I can see some students bitting their pens,scratching their heads and some just doing it patiently.

I wish I was in the last gruop ; doing it patiently. The test took about 50 minutes. I repeat 50 minutes. Not 1 hour. I wish it was. Nevermind the test has already finished. I hope I pass with flying colours because if I dont pass,I would have to repeat tha level again for another month. I don't want to waste my parents' money. So I have to pass! Have to! The writing exam was ok for me. I did about problem and solutions on drug addict.

I've heard that the SPM results is coming out on 12th March 2009. I'm so excited and also worried. Whether I pass or not,I'll have to wait. It was raining heavily this evening. Since it was raining,I had to run to reach home. Today we have to practice for the Graduation Day and somone was totally selfish in the class that annoyed all of the classmates. For example, this person was in the International Group and he has to speak in English and convers a topic which is connected to Englis. But instead he asked a girl student some personal questions and of course the groupmates didn't like it. So they asked that guy to stop asking such question and come back to the real track. But he was soooooooo selfish that he said,"Mind your own bussiness!". Therefore,I as the Asst. Coordinator, have a meeting with my Director and Asst. Director to change him to the Arabic group. And he looked tthat he didn't mind but then he said he would not come for the gradution day. That was a very shocking information becaus ewe really need him in the Arabic Group. So,the teacher told us not to be babies and move on. Because this is not the first time you'll fail,theres a lot of things you might fail outside. Who knows you might fail in your job,marriage and family. Who knows?

The tacher was really pissed of with his attitude and character. Same goes with all of the calssmates. For our presentation,we have to sing a song from ABBA 'Thank you for the music'. But we changed it to, 'Thank you for the English'.

The Students of ELS

Today,my teacher announced that tomorrow we'll be having the final exams for 2 days : Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will be the Graduation Day :) Wish me luck k.

My mum gave me something which I wanted to called it a present :) Thanks Mummy.

Yes! Today is my birthday! My sweet 18th birthday. My family took me to Pizza Hut at Extreme park. We tought that it was a Pizza Hut restaurant. We didn't know that it was a delivery restaurant. So they've to serve us with the box and the plastics cases. Haha. We had had..

Tomorrow will be my 18th Birthday and I can't wait for it. But for me,this year, I wouldn't celebrate it with my friends like I always do. And sometimes I do missed that time. For those who remebers,do wish me k. I don't need any presents. Just I want to know if anyone remember my birthday.

Yesterday,I've lost one of my relatives which is my aunt called Mak Long. She has returned on 28 Feb 2009 on 9.20 am. I was not aware for this situation because my mom wouldn't wants to shock us if not me and my siblings don't have the energy to eat. Therefore,my mom decided to tell us after breakfast. After that she told us what's going on and of course all of us were in shock and the tears started to fall. We went straight to our hometown and all of the family relatives were already there. I went straight to my closest cousin and I tried to calm her down. She was the youngest in her family and I'm very sorry about her mother. But I know she's brave enough to handle it.

All of us were sad especially the victims family. It was a sad situation for me because the last time I saw my aunt was last Hari Raya in Oct 2008. That was the last time I saw her. She had a disease called 'strok' but everyone know about it before she died. Everyone were in a mourning situation.

After that some of the granies and my aunt's daughter and sister-in-law washed her up and prepare for the prayer at the mosque. Lastly,my aunt was safely buried in the evening after Asar. All of us felt that we lost someone special in the family.
