Refreshing Spring Resort, Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor

When you say about Hulu Selangor, you'll be imagined about the coldness of the Kalumpang River flowing between the rocks and green trees around you. Did you know there are other privileges than Kalumpang River, which is a place called Refreshing Spring Resort.

Situated in Kalumpang, with only one hour journey from Kuala Lumpur, the resort is a heaven for those who want a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Built in the garden of tropical fruits, when fruiting season arrived, visitors can enjoy the experience of picking the fruits straight from the tree!

Just a fountain in the middle.

The road or pathway to Sungai Inki.

This place is flooded with Durian trees.

A place to hangout. No handphones please.

I like this one.

The property is also located close to the Inki river that flows facing with the rooms available. Set foot in the river while enjoying the chirping of birds certainly can soothe anyone who stay at the resort. For those who want a little variety, in the evening, visitors can try out for a dip in the hot springs located at the front of the property. Soaking in hot tubs can help in healing and rejuvenation while deepen your body, mind and spirit. Soaking in hot refreshing spring in the evening would definitely spell F-U-N !. There is also a paintball activities provided by the management of this resort for those seeking some adventure. I know I am ! My first ever game of paintball.

Another shot on the river.

River? Yes ! Let's go !

Well, hello there. Do come in. The water's great!

Jeremy giving a brief introduction about the game.

A strict co-worker who is trying to explain the rules & regulations and couldn't take a joke. Take a chill pill.

My first ever of this game! Seriously heart-pumping.

As the day turns into dusk, it is time for..

Hot spring bebeh !

Different variants like studio accommodation, chalet, twin bunker, and dormitories as well as a conference hall that can be adapted to follow the requirements of the visitors. The building's design is unique  and casually designed for visitors who attend in groups of different sizes. The one thing about Refreshing Spring Resort is, visitors must pre-book at their website to stay here because Walk-in not advisable. Furthermore they prefer visitors of capacity of more than 10 people as the basis of this resort is team-building.

This is where we stayed. I think this one is the twin bunker.

just a small place. Really small. No TV.

Other rooms available.

Loving the architecture.

Don't worry. There is a playground for little kids to play.

You know what, since cars are not allowed to bring inside. They will transport you from the main gate with this truck. Cool huh? Enjoying the view and smell those durianssss. Hehe.

Rumah Rehat Sri Berkat, Fraser Hill

A breathe of fresh air is what you will find at the top of Fraser Hill. The cold and windy environment will surely makes you forget all the problems for a while. Just a quick getaway from the city. A time to heal your body and soul with additional of peace and quiet. Trust me, be it your getaway or family gathering includes with grandparents and cousins, this is the place for you !

I present to you, Rumah Rehat Sri Berkat at Fraser Hill.

I'm in England !

Huge double stories rest house.

Imagine standing at that window looking out? The scenery will amazed you.

Told ya.

Even better view outside. Not from window.

I like this better. from the second floor view.

A Scottish type rest house that provides accommodation for those who seeks for some relaxations. This rest house, although managed by Tourism Selangor, is open for public for those who would like to indulge in the Victorian English experience. This historic building is a double stories building inclusive of 3 VIP rooms, 3 medium rooms, 2 small rooms, 2 living rooms, cafe and dry kitchen.

Deluxe Room - RM 100 per night / RM 120 public holiday and weekends.

Executive Room - RM 150 per night / RM 170 public holiday and weekends.

Suite Room - RM 200 per night /  RM 220 public holiday and weekends.

This building was established as early as 1926 ! Funding from the British Red Cross Society and the order os St. John of Jerusalem in England for the benefit especially of ex-members of the imperial forces 1914 - 1918 and the dependents gift was made to Malaya in token of the generosity of its inhabitants and to commemorate the unexampled cooperation between the empire overseas and the motherland during the great war. It is also as a reminder of how the architecture of England's building. Fraser Hill, or also known as Little England, has been the nicest rest house that I have ever been. Truly in love with the environment. This bungalow had been taken good care as the building does not change a bit since 1926. It is surely rich in history. Come give it a change rather than going on hotels, resorts or any chalet.

Dry kitchen at the back. Huge dry kitchen.

Little garden kinda lounge area.

Fake fire place. Well it used to be a real fire place once.

Yes, hello? Reservation for 20 people? No problem!

Living room upstairs. Cosyyyy.

Please leave the shoes outside. Thanks.

Entering the rest house, wallaaaah !
"I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier"

Did I mention that you can have a BBQ sessh? Yup. Yes you can.
You are welcome.

Although the number of visitors has reached 50,000 visitors since January 2012 recently on January 16, 2014, the opening of the museum was formally implemented by the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz. DR Group Holdings is also a producer of a local chocolate brand known as Danson, Fidani and Millton.

The museum is divided into several parts - Journey of Chocolates, tells the history of the journey of chocolate from cocoa beans from as early as 1500 BC. Father of Chocolate, featuring a Swiss pioneer in the manufacture of chocolate. Health Benefits of Chocolates, will tell visitors about the benefits and advantages of eating chocolate for health, Chocolate in the Industry, shared about the scale of the chocolate confectionery industry, the Chocolate Kitchen will demonstrate chocolate making demos for visitors who come to the museum and the Chocolate Galleria, a shop selling all kinds of famous brand of chocolate with as little as 30% - 50% cheaper than at the supermarket chocolate. Part of the museum is filled with maps, illustrations and interactive displays to improve the experience for visitors.

The Chocolate Galleria for you sweet tooths.

Don't know which one to choose right?

Do you know with just additional of RM200, you and your family can enjoy making a house or any invention using chocolates provided by the people at the museum? YES ! Now you can show your hidden talent of being an architecture. Haha.

My group and obviously we did not win. Haha

Something different. Instead of houses, they make cemetery. Chocolate creepy cemetery.

Celebrating an early Christmas anyone?

A decent home with a cute garden and bench.

The winner of all ! From the MDHS people.

Outstanding piece of creation. I think they won 2nd place. I think.

For hardcore fans of sweet chocolate, do not waste your time and continue to visit this museum and ready to spend to meet the desires of these fine handmade chocolates !
