My first raya without my parents

Assalammualaikum everyone!

How was your raya celebration? Done indulging on those delicious raya foods? Had enough or need more? I know I had enough of rendang and lemang and ketupat.

Now it's back to basic foods - nasi kandaq, wong solo and etc.

Today, am not gonna share about all the foods that I ate or haven't eaten yet. But, I would like to share on my first raya without my parents. (nope, I'm not married yet, haha)

This year, me and my family supposed to go back to our hometown, Kuala Terengganu, for raya but due to some unavoidable issue, me and my siblings had to stay back in Shah Alam for raya while my parents head up East.

So, how was my raya? Let me share.

1) Last day of breaking fast was normal. Despite being only two with my sister. The brother was out with friends.

2) The raya eve's was weird because usually at this hour, me and my mum would cook kuah kacang and rendang ayam for raya. I ended up cooking these dishes alone while texting my mum on the ingredients and how to cook it.

3) Kuah kacang took SO LONG to complete cooking. No wonder mummy would be standing all night in the kitchen.

4) Rendang ayam was okay but I forgot to put in kunyit hidup, and I wonder why the gravy is not yellow enough. But the taste was okay, more of Rendang Kelio than normal rendang.

5) As soon as I finished cooking kuah kacang, rendang ayam and boil nasi impit, gas dapur habis! Smooth.

6) Thought of going for solat raya in the morning, but my body just wouldn't let me (blame PMS)

7) Went to my cousin's house in Cheras for three days of raya and doing basically eating and playing phones coz Astro's channel and types of movies for raya are just cringe-y and exhausting.

8) Brought three baju raya(s) for OOTD purposes and posting it on social media while knowing am just gonna lay in front of the TV and playing phones, but I do had fun playing with my new baby cousin *heart eyes*

9) But it really was weird not having parents around for raya.

Disclaimer - I'm not yet married, so it doesn't comply to those who are already married. Don't give me the "Nanti kau dah kahwin tau lah" Haha. I'm just sharing what I felt for my first time raya without my parents.

Hope you guys have a great raya and for those who are working today, happy working!
