Food Foundry, Seksyen 17, Petaling Jaya

Food Foundry, PJ | Another two-years-ago-pictures, found while sorting out some folder in my laptop. At that time Food Foundry was really famous for their foods and cakes. Simple and clean decorations with comfy seating and ambiance, made it one of the IT cafe.

After finishing our class, and Aimi had to get a new GoPro accessories replacements at PJ, we decided to head down to Food Foundry for lunch. It is said that the building was once a location for mafia and gangster and their girlfriends whether it is true or not, I may never know.

First experience of Make-up

Quite exaggerate huh the title? It's not that I've never had make-up on my face. I usually only use eyeliner, lipbalm/lipgloss, and bb cream. Knowing that my cousins love to doll up with make-up, I asked them to teach me a thing or two about the almost-proper way to make-up.

First thing first, you need to make sure your face is clean and also your hands. Then prep your face with moisturizer so that the make-up will glide smoothly on your skin. For moisturizer here, I used Body Shop's orange vitamin C moisturizer I think.

Concelear is used to cover uneven skin, dark spots, acne and all other misfits on your face. Then move on to foundation, as we all know the best foundation will be from NARS. As all of the make-up essentials is my cousins', so I'll just go with it. Foundation used - Body shop too.

I learnt about contouring, shading and highlighting cheek bone, nose and face. Blend and blend and blend. Cover it all up with compact powder or loose powder then add on the blush and a little shimmering for a dewy glow.

Now it's time for properly draw the brows and put on some eyeliner and mascara. Not forgetting the lip part. Lastly is a prep setting spray from ELF cosmetics.

There were a lot of brushes that made me confuse on which to use on what products and the purpose. Haha. Thanks Eka Muslihah and Hanani for the lesson on Make-up 101.

Twenty & Co, Seksyen 14, Shah Alam

Twenty & Co | Be warned that these pictures are about 2 years back, and I look a little slimmer than now. Haha. I was transferring pictures from my phone to my laptop that I stumbled on Twenty & Co folders. I think at that time, I was saving it for a quick review post on it, but then again, it took me 2 years to write about it. Haha.

It was during my degree years, me and Aimi was about to have some lunch if I'm not mistaken and she wanted to meet her at-that-time boyfriend,  so looking from the outside, the building can be seen from a far.

Twenty & Co choose to have black and gold to represent the cafe and it may seems professionalism and classy. At first glance, I like it. There are three seating area - outside, indoor and above 1st floor. Thought of having an outdoor feeling, we sat on the parquet outside, but later change our mind as the weather change to slightly hot.

Browsing towards their desserts display brought to you by ScrumptiousSugar at that time (am not sure is they still the vendors over there), we choose to have a slice of victoria sandwhich cake and berry pavlova. Both desserts was okay and accompanied by their 'okay' coffee.

I have never been there back ever since. No, not that I don't like it. I may find the pricing is just outside my pay grade. But do feel free to drop by and maybe let me know what you think about Twenty & Co, and maybe if you can convince me enough, I might just come back :)

Baking Class with Baking Project

There's always something inside me that urge to make flower buttercream. To be exact the Korean Flower Buttercream. As they look so beautiful on cakes and cupcakes. Three years back I have never thought of giving flower buttercream a chance. When people ask me whether I have these kind of decoration or not, I would just say, "Sorry, I haven't learnt yet".

But now, I am surely regret of not learning it earlier. So, I collect all the courage inside me and push away my laziness, I scrolled on the Instagram for #flowerbuttercreamclass and found one profile of Kak Yasmin from Baking Project.

With a handfull amount of RM400 per class (there goes my monthly spend) I managed to learn a few flowers like roses, chrysanthemum, leaves, fillers, and daisy. I even learnt how to make ombre colours for side of the cake.

So, currently I am still learning on perfecting my flowers and my buttercream, as there are three types of buttercream used to make flower - Swiss Meringue Buttercream, Italian Meringue Buttercream and American Buttercream. For orders you may contact me at Instagram @bakesbyab :)
