It was a mistake coming to Midvalley at this day as I forgot that Malaysians have already on holiday today because tomorrow is our 59th Independence Day. Looking for parking took me half an hour and a mouthful of cursing. Haha.
Well if its not for meeting Cik Atul, I wouldn't be here. I'm going for a quick holiday with some friends and intended to borrow her babycam (what I call Gopro/SjCam/Xiomi). Cathcing up sesh lasted about 10 mins till her boss called her back for work.
Owh btw, starting in Friday there will be a wedding convention at Midvalley Exhibition Centre and do look out for 9Kedondong booth ya !
Okay back to the 'when u just dont know what to eat' moment - I bet all of us have felt this and my mind was wondering on all the food junction/restaurants/kiosk in Midvalley and decided to go to their foodcourt and ate Rice with Dried Chilli Chicken. After done eating, then I've realised like there was Auntie Anne's, McDonalds, Mickey's Pizza, some mexican foods, and much more. Haha. When you just that hungry and you can't think 😝

My Trip to Perlis (Day Two)
On our second day at Perlis, woke up a little late as our journey may start late as stated the night before. Had a wonderful kampung style breakfast which was Nasi Lemak but due to the lateness, there's only left rice and sambal. I sigh but then again, it was enough for me.
DAY ONE IN PERLIS
Our first stop was Pasar Nat. A long stretch of market by the roadside and also in the forest. Yup, you read it right. The stretch might be around 2 to 3km if I'm not mistaken. Ranging from clothes to fruits, small plants to IKEA products, and also vintage products and freshly ground coffee.
The name Pasar Nat comes from the word 'Penat' which means tired, as it is a long stretch and in a forest, people can easily be tired. I was amazed only by the coffee and the vintage stuffs. Bought some coffee home but until now, daddy didn't taste it yet. I guess, Kampung's coffee is not really for anyone above 50. Haha. I bet my late grandpa might loved it.
Done here, we head to all time (other people, not me) favourite spot - The Zon Duty Free. I've been here twice already and couldn't seem to find what is all the fuss about, except for those chocolate freaks I guess. I bought one and only one - Ritter Sports chocolate. Cik Atul bought her favourite munchin' M&Ms.
Just beside The Zon is where Arked Niaga Padang Besar situated. This is similar to Pasar Payang in Terengganu, minus the wet area. Unfortunately, we came around public holidays and weekends, people are flooding ! I have only one thing in mind on what to buy here, just one jersey that represent Perlis, but then again, I couldn't find it. Or maybe Perlis doesn't has their own jersey. I don't know. So I bought German's instead.
Lunch time in Perlis, Restoran Sarang Burung is what I always recommend to family and friends if they ever go to Perlis. That one dish called Kengsom really make smy mouth water while just typing it's name. It's something like Singgang or Tomyam. Lighty clear soup with fish in it. And also their Ikan Bakar is a must to try here,
After eating two plates of rice (or should I say more, hihi), as people say, you need to walk to lower down the carbo and all the calories, so we head down to Perlis' Taman Herba or Herb Garden. There's varieties of herbs grown here, and even weed. Eherher. No lah, just kidding.
By end of the day, Abang Jamil brought us to see the sunset by the Masjid Terapung or Floating Mosque near Jetty Kuala Perlis. I do agree, that the sunset view over here is surely beautiful. Had a little snack called Udang Sanggul - shrimp, fish and calamari wrap in a pastry shell, but sadly I couldn't even taste the shrimp.
For dinner we head back to the homestay and off to bed. Good night.

My Trip to Perlis (Day One)
Well, hello there ! I have just got back from Perlis for my trip during the Harum Manis mango season. This particular type of mango can only be get once a year and only in Perlis. Thank you to Abang Jamil from Railway Tourism Association Malaysia (RTAM) for inviting me to tag along with the group which majority are Malaysia's Travel Agents.
DAY TWO IN PERLIS
Departed from home on Saturday at an early morning, 7.30am to be exact, but the train came at 8.10am. Its always half minute gap for KTM on weekends. Manage to bring along one of my bestfriend and also my freelance photographer, Cik Atul, for this trip.
The journey took about 5 hours and we were only mesmerized by the view when we reached Kedah, especially Sungai Petani, as we get to see some of the green view of the paddy field. Cik Atul was the one who was really overjoyed about it. Hehe.
We reached Arau, around 3.30 in the evening and two buses had already waiting for us. after 20 minutes, we reached the homestay. Greeted warmly by the locals of Homestay Kampung Paya Guring and being served delicious Pulut Mangga, as soon as we arrived.
A short speech given by the head of Homestay Kampung Paya Guring, Tuan Haji Romlee bin Haji Hassan, and all of us were given some time to check ourselves in. The homestay-chalet here was built somewhere around last year and have a total of 34 chalets.
For whoever that stayed here, one of the activities provided is the Kampung Tour, where we walked through the village, looking on the Harum Manis field, chicken passing by, quick photoshoot at the rubber tree, playing with the winds at the paddy field and more picture-taking. Hehe.
65 of us really enjoyed with the tour and after maghrib prayer, we had our dinner done by the locals of the homestay. I did have a really full tummy when it comes to delicious kampung foods. Some of it I have never eaten in KL like Sambal Belacan Machang and the ulams which was Cik Atul's favourite dish. (pstt she even ate two plates of rice)
By the end of the day, before everyone is off to their beds, one of the travel agent came up with a game called Mystery Songs, where you need to choose one number and that number will represent the page that you need to sing to. Obviously, I was one of the victims. Haha. I had the "This Old Man He Played One" song. Its one of the songs where, I bet everyone used to sing when we were all kids.
A cup of kampung coffee was prepared with a lot of french toast for our supper. What a way to end the night. Goodnight peeps. On to next day !
