Craving for a large, affordable, New York kinda crust pizza? Why don't you head down to LaDapur at seksyen 7, Shah Alam near Big Brothers. Its a small lot of restaurant full with Italian colors. You cannot miss it.

The menu served involves, pizza, some western, pasta and also a bit of Japanese cuisine. One of my friend, Hanyss Maniss, also a foodie is always my partner when it comes to trying out new foods or cafes.

As we reached there, we were delighted to try on their pizza and I must say it was huge ! Like 16 inch huge ! A full of 8 slices, with combination of two toppings, where me and my friend can only eat two pieces each. Full I must say.

The owner is a landscape/architecture graduate if I'm not mistaken. But then helping beloved father on food & beverages department in New York, when he suddenly decided that he wanted to own a restaurant mainly in pizza ! Well, congrats on having your own Pizza Frenzy ! :D

Cotton Craft by Twist, Seksyen 13

Ignore the big sign on top. Focus on below.

There's a new cafe in town ! Say hello to Cotton Craft by Twist at Persiaran Alami, Seskyen 13, Shah Alam. It had just launch last Saturday on 5th April 2014. And it is my time, to drop by and see what are they serving.

For some landmark, it is near The Sumbs cafe but on the other side. From the roundabout on Persiaran Alami, go straight and turn left. At the end of the road you'll find a "white and turquoise" paint wall, and you have reach your destination.

Since it is base in white colour, it was surely bright. But that doesn't stop me from entering. The way they organize the tables and counter - small, simple and just enough for a cute space. Its like how I would decorate my dream home. Simple. Less crowded.

As I step by the counter, my eyes instantly struck with the varieties of menu served and I became undecided on what to eat. The staffs were friendly enough on helping me and explaining on the specialties over there. Luckily, they have "Weekends' Special" and I was the first customer to try on Back Rib Linguine and my sister had the famous Chicken Roulade. Accompanied with some fruit juices.

Back Rib Linguine (RM29)
The meat just fell of the the bone and that is what makes it better.
The pasta is very delicious. Worth the price.

Chicken Roulade (RM17)
Chicken breast wrap on beef strip, mushrooms & chicken terrine,
served with garlic crumbs cauliflower, potato Au gratin and BBQ sauce.
The crispy-ness of the coating makes it even more delicious.

Banoffie Pie (RM10)
What's a meal without a dessert?
A pie crust filled with caramel, banana and splat of whipped cream.

Told ya I'm a foodie :3

My first 'Nyonya Colors', literally

Every time I pass by this cafe, I always wonder to myself that the food served would be expensive just by looking at the pricing on the kueh sell at the counter. Without really looking at the menu or even the package deal that they are having.

Today, after work, me and my crazy partner decided to have our "girlfriends" session since it is Friday and tomorrow is holiday, it was hard finding a good place to hang since at 6.30pm is where everyone is off from work and crowding every food place for dinner.

The only place that was not crowded and comfortable enough to hang was Nyonya Colors. Luckily, there was a spot. From a far, we can see that they have a set meal, as fast as lightning we reached for the table and ordered the meal. Both of us ordered the Chee Chuang Sew or Cheongsing Fun, I think. Man, why must the name be hard to pronounce and spell? Owh someone please correct me.

But, the taste was okay. It was basically Kuey Teow with sauce like Yong Tau Fu.
Price with one cup of Ice Lemon Tea (RM10). Not bad.

Someone is just overly excited today. And I wonder why. Haha.

Today, I malu pandang kamera. LOL

Any bird watchers out there? If yes, then head down to Kuala Kubu Bharu on this coming 25th to 27th April 2014 for an event of “Bird Race.” Bird race here does not meant by putting bird on a run race, but simply collecting the amount number of bird species in a given time.

Jeneris by Ahren Cafe, NU Sentral

A cup of hot mocha and a slice of cake on a Thursday night is just how I ended my day. Wondering around at KL central station right after work, and finding out that the new shopping mall named NU Sentral had just launched on 29th March. So I decided to go browse around the mall for something to ease my eyes or even fulfilling my hunger.

Basically the mall is still not fully open yet, got more of shop lots still in renovation I think. It have around 5 or 6 floor if I'm not mistaken. After going through all the floors (yes, I'm a bit of a walker.), I stop by at this one cafe which already catches my attention when I first walk pass through it.

Let me introduce to you, Jeneris by Ahern cafe ! If you walk pass it, you might just think that it'll be expensive like Starbucks or Coffee Bean, but gladly I must say, it is quite affordable actually. With their Lunch Package for only RM14.90, you can have a meal with a drink. They have rice, don't worry. For sure, your lunch would be full.

Well, that did not stop there. The foods just keep on getting better ! They also have Sandwich Lunch Deal, consisting your choice of sandwich where you can choose the bread you want and drinks, obviously. But, I would love to come by on weekends, because they will be having Tea-Time deals - 2 drinks (coffee/tea/juices) with cakes or biscotti for only RM15. How cheap is that? You can have a chit-chat sesh with your girlfriends or event a simple date with your partner.

Just now, I just couldn't resist on trying on some of their cake. The one that I'm eating was Coconut Salted Caramel cake if I'm not mistaken. Too eager to eat that I did not bother to read the name. Hehe. With my usual Hot Mocha.

As you step on the escalator, you can see this cafe.
If you miss it, you might just be blind. *joking

The Coconut Salted Caramel cake. (RM11)
For those who like sweet cakes,
besides than Foodsbury's Mille-Crepe cake, you can try this for a change.
I promise you, this is not the typical sponge cake with cheap fillings.
This is the real deal. The cake is very solid with flavour,
little nutty textures and the cream cheese is heaveennn !

Now, do enjoy a bit of the deco :D

I just love the Big Red Contena they made as an office.

Meet Steve.
The friendly staff which was very chatty and don't mind talking about the foods
and which one you should try. Good way of persuading people to come and eat. (Like me, haha !)
Say it with me like the monkey in Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.
"Steeve ! Steeve !" Haha

Okay, to all you readers, do come on weekends and indulge yourself with their specialties :)

100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo

23rd of March 2014 marked the last day, which is the 100th day for the Doraemon 100 Secret Gadgets at Viva Home, KL. This cute blue cartoon was once my favourite series of all time when I was a kid. Standing-by in front of the TV at 6.30 pm for the sake of seeing it, was what I was waiting for coming back from school.

When this event was organized by the Animation International (M) Sdn. Bhd., I was delighted to be one of the Media people to be invited to go to such event. As, I reach there, the setting up of the place seems very friendly and surely capture the attention of those many kids. But, maybe the location of Viva Home, is not that perfect for people to come. For, I feel that, there are other places better to the expo. I feel that the organizer have their own reason why do they choose this place. Nevertheless, it was awesome!

Accompanied by some local artists, the organizer, Mr Steve Chow, brought us through the tour while explaining each of the expo shown in it. Firstly, as we step in, would be the introduction of the Doraemon itself. Did you know, that the Doraemon was actually, originally yellow in colour? Yes, at that time, it was yellow and, let just label it as HE shall we. So, back to the story, he made a robotic version of him and made some of his pet rats to bit the robotic's ears to make if more realistic, but since the robotic is the similar version of himself, the rats accidentally bit his ears instead !

Due to the unexpected incident, his girlfriends left him. I think to myself, "Doraemon got girlfriend meh?". Being left made him cried and cried all day long and due to that, the tears and depression made him shed his yellow-coloured and thus, the blue colour is reveal ! basically, that is how Doraemon is shown.

What it meant by 100 Secret Gadgets was, they displayed 100 of Doraemon's gadgets like the door to anywhere (Pintu Sukahati), feelings potion, memory bread, and many more !

Going through the tour made me questioned what are the relevance of this expo, so I interviewed one of the organization's crew, she said that this expo has been all over the world and this is their first time in Malaysia, first were in Hong Kong and the main purpose of making this expo was to bring back the memories that people had while growing up with Doraemon. As well as a place for family and friends to go for an indoor weekend. It as a good idea though. I was excited a bit on the expo. Hehe.

The best part was the goodies given to us, a cute Doraemon lanyard and notebook. They also have more goodies sold. But sorry, the time already run out. They also sell, Doraemon's favourite food - Dorayaki. Am not really quite sure to like the dish or not, coz it is like a bit of pancake / "bahulu" with fillings of chocolate-red beans kind of taste. I'm not that favour of red beans. But owh well, a bit wouldn't hurt.

P/S: I've heard they may made another expo up north. So stay tune :D

Putrajaya's 6th International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Last Saturday, I managed to went to the yearly event in Putrajaya which is the event that  people are waiting for. What event this is? It's the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta located in Presint 2, Putrajaya. The four-day event was surely not enough to feel the excitements of seeing the balloons float in the air.  I would prefer if it was a week-long, so that I can managed to ride the Tethered Hot Air Balloon.

Went there at a round noon, and people already crowding the area especially the balloons rides. Trust me, it was longer than the iphone's launching. With the purchase of RM20, you can ride it at an average of 5-7 minutes for 50-80 feet height. No wonder people Q as early as they can. Coz it is cheap !

With a total of 18 balloonist joining this fiesta, it will surely be a great view to be seen in the sky. But, unluckily, the day that I came only three balloons were released. A bit disappointed I must say, but couldn't blame them. It just the weather is not very allowing. Raining and strong wind, just make it difficult for the crew to even started to flame it.

While waiting, I managed to interview one of the balloonist from New Zealand, Andrew Parker, which represent UNICEF with the slogan 'Flying High For Kids'. This was his first time attending Putrajaya's event, but been flying the balloon for almost 14 years and counting. He managed to travel many countries in order to gain awareness on World Hunger program. He went to schools like in African, those places where education is somehow difficult to expand. So hoping that through this, the awareness can be achieved.

Then, I managed to have a small talk with another balloonist named, Peter Dutneall from Australia. He said that flying the balloon was actually easy, because I asked him, looking at the way crew trying to flame it up seems hard. In this event, the balloon are only allowable to flew at about 500 meter only as more than that, they might just bump into some of the planes from KLIA. But he said that the highest he had flew was about 3km high, well that is surely one hell of a ride !

The "Night Glow" was the cherry on top of this event every year, but this year due to unstable weather, only three balloons were light up, and others were only in their basket playing with the flames according to the rhythm-ish coloured lights. I was wishing to see all the 18 balloons line up in two lines. But, not my luck, maybe next year.

They are trying to flame up the largest balloon which is the Motorcycle from United Kingdom,
but due to the rain, no Motorcycle balloon :'(

The crew 'happy' faces while working.

The Ice Cream balloon from Belgium.

Willy Balloon also from Belgium.

Yours truly, Malaysia mari :D

The funny moment where the crew lay down and roll to the end for the
purposes of letting out the air in the balloon.

My crazy partner :P

The one who is overly exited on being a Media people.

The "Night Glow" without the balloon. *Sad*

The handsome Andrew. Atul's crush. Haha.

Hello, there Peter.

Surely next year, I will be coming again, and will get my ticket early on the Tethered Hot Air Balloon, and the Breakfast & Balloon package. See you next year !
